With over 16 years experience coaching tennis in Red Deer, Simon Tennis School (STS) brings a fun, supportive, and engaging approach to learning tennis. STS coaches have a strong track record of helping students of all ages learn tennis technique and strategy.
Meet the Simons
Coach Rene and Coach Bruno are a father and son pair who are lifelong tennis devotees. Rene has coached in Slovakia and Austria before coming to Alberta, and has coached in the province extensively, including working with the Tennis Alberta’s national team players. He holds a Coach 1 designation with Tennis Canada. Bruno has been coaching for 5 years while also acting as tournament director for local Tennis Alberta tournaments.
Coaching Philosophy
Our coaching philosophy goes beyond teaching tennis skills — it’s about instilling core values like hard work, fair play, respect for rules, and learning how to win and lose with grace. We believe that through tennis, we help shape better human beings, which is my ultimate goal as a coach. Having fun is also fundamental! Through everything we emphasize a deep respect and love for the game.

We offer both individual and group lessons. We can assist in arranging group lessons for students of like ages, or if you prefer to arrange lessons for your own group you may.
